Lisa McCoy - Aboriginal Harmony Circle Worker

lisa-mccoyLisa joined both the Sasamans and Laichwiltach Society‚Äôs teams in November of 2013 as the Elders Worker.  Lisa is from the Ktunaxa Nation, Tobacco Plains Indian Band.  She moved to Vancouver with her family in 1992.  Upon completion of secondary school, Lisa went to work with BC Tel in operator services for 12 years.  Lisa also worked as an on call casual employee for the Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society (VACFSS).  In 2005, she accepted a position with VACFSS first as an Office Assistant and then as Office Manager.  A new opportunity presented itself and she joined the First Nations Public Service Secretariat (FNPSS) in 2009 as the Executive Assistant.   In January of 2013, Lisa was offered the position of Executive Assistant and Council Liaison at the BC Academic Health Council (BCAHC) until its dissolution.  Her interests are in learning more about her culture and working with others to make positive changes for First Nations in BC.  In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors, cultural events, and spending time with family.
