Aaron Thompson was born in Duncan, but has lived in many towns and cities in Western Canada. Aaron spent most of his life living in the Edmonton area before moving to the Comox Valley in 2011 with his wife and two small children. Aaron’s wife works as a high school teacher in Campbell River. Aaron graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2015 from Vancouver Island University with a child welfare specialization. Aaron is passionate about social justice and focuses his practice on the strengths of individuals and the right to self-determination. Aaron’s passion to work with First Nation communities was ignited during his education as he took many classes that focused on these communities. This passion was furthered by his practicum experiences.
Aaron is both honored and excited to join the Sasamans team and is looking forward to meeting and working with the families in Courtenay as of August 2015.
